Basic Scrapbook Essentials
Many people would like to get started in the Scrapbooking hobby,
but a lot of them are fearful to start because they think of the
costs. They look at all the embellishments, patterned papers,
and doodads and think that they aren't creative enough to start.
Well, this article will prove to those people you don't need to
spend a lot to make a scrapbook. You can make it as expensive or
inexpensive as you want.
Here is a "Must Have" starter list. Some of these items you may
want to invest the extra money into so you get a good quality
product.
Scrapbook Starter Kit
Paper Trimmer - this tool is one you will use the most so it is
a good idea to invest the money into getting a good one. Use
this to cut photos and paper. One with measurements and a grid
system is a good idea.
Scissors - use to cut paper, stickers, die cuts, etc.
Adhesive - use this to adhere your photos and paper to your
scrapbook page.
Pen - use for journaling. Make sure it is acid and lignin free.
Paper - this comes in a variety of different sizes like 6x6,
8x8, 8 1/2 x11, and the most popular 12x12. Make sure this is
also acid and lignin free.
Album - these come in a variety of sizes and styles. There is
ring, strap, and post bound. A good album is one that will let
your pages lay flat when you are looking at them.
Page Protectors - these are what your finished pages go into.
That is about all you need to make a basic scrapbook page. No
need to spend the money in fancy embellishments or fancy
patterned paper. The focus should be on your pictures. That is
what scrapbooking is all about.
