In the 1930s Couristan began to import hooked handmade Chinese rugs and Japanese braided rugs. During the 1950s Couristan began importing quality broadloom rugs as well as a variety of area rugs. Each year their lines continued to grow and expand. Today Couristan is still going strong providing over 25 collections of handmade area rugs from all around the world, as well as 60 collections of broadloom rugs. Their rugs are imported from Napal, Pakistan, and China, as well as many other areas. They still believe that there is no finer rug nor no rug of higher quality than a hand made rug.
