Modern bathrooms
Bathroom is not just a place for personal hygiene but also a
place to relax the mind and the body. Whirlpool tubs, body
sprays are some of the luxuries of a modern bathroom. People who
don't have ample time to visit a spa frequently are turning
their bathroom into a personal mini spa.
Using colors is the most inexpensive and effective way to
enliven a bathroom. Painting even a single wall in some vibrant
color can make your bathroom look younger and cheerful.
Never mind if you have a small bathroom. You can make it look
bigger by installing large mirrors on the wall. Also use sliding
doors to save space. Have shower cubicles in place of bathtubs.
All this will save enough space.
Faucets are also an important part of the bathroom. Don't opt
for cheap faucets. They may look tempting but in the long run,
they will prove to be expensive, as they will have to be
replaced pretty soon. See that your faucet has anti-scald
feature, as this will prove to be beneficial with kids
around.
Most modern and contemporary bathrooms have floor-heating
systems. It's a luxury you can't afford to miss. Wouldn't you
want to place your feet on a welcomingly warm and toasty floor
after having a nice bath. Electric floor heating system can be
installed under most type of tiles like ceramic, stone, granite
etc. This system is not only affordable but also safe.
Consider flowering plants in the window and framed family
photographs on the wall. How do you like the idea? Wouldn't it
make the bathroom cozy and cheerful?
Since most of the remodeling budget, around 31%, goes in bathroom
cabinets, they are also worth considering. There are two
types of cabinets- framed and frameless. Framed cabinets are the
popular cabinets in America. They are also called standard
cabinets. Frameless cabinets are cheaper because they use less
material. They also look more stylish. Frameless cabinets occupy
lesser area than framed ones. As far as installation is
concerned framed cabinets are easier to install.
