Top Ten Scriptural Attitudes For Believers for 2006
Believers in Jesus Christ today have to live in the world, yet
they must not be of the world. That is by allowing worldly
influences to taint their testimony and declaration of faith in
Jesus Christ. As followers, there are certain attitudes that are
scriptural, which will help us live in the world and not yet be
of the world.
1. Salvation: You are saved and have Peace with God. From the
start of your journey in Christ, it was one of faith. This
journey is brought to you by faith in the person, work, and
triumph of Jesus Christ on the Cross. On that Cross, he took
your sins and mine, nailing our sins to it. Covered in the blood
of Christ, you are now justified in Gods eyes. This is through
your faith, God rewards you for believing, and signs the free of
sin declaration. You are justified, or it is just as if you
never sinned. You have access to the Father, through the Son.
This is one attitude you must keep with you. You are saved. It
is not a blatant, bragging attitude, but one that walks with
Christ. As his disciple, you bring His love and teaching to
others, so they too can find this Salvation.
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace
with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 5:2 by whom also
we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and
rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
2. Persistence: We will be holy and unblameable, unreproveable
in Gods sight if we continue in the faith we were brought into.
We are to be grounded and settled in the facts of our faith.
This comes from study of Gods word and intensive observation
into the doctrines of the Word. The bottom line of Gods word and
its doctrine is the hope it gives to all men. This hope was
brought to us by Christ on the cross. That hope is one God the
Father, through mercy gives to us free. We don't deserve it, we
just have it. This hope presents us justified. This means we are
presented to God holy, unblameable, and unreproveable. Having
this persistence, makes us unwaverable against any attacks of
our faith by the enemy of faith.
Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and
settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel,
which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature
which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; (v 22-
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and
unblameable and unreproveable in his sight )
3. Unmovable: We are not to be moved by those in the Faith, who
depart from it by following seducing spirits and doctrines of
devils. Living in the last days, which from the time of the
Apostles to this day has been occurring, has seen departures
from the faith of the Apostles. The major shift in this
departure from the faith believes not in Christ Jesus and his
complete work of Salvation for men. The paramount objective for
the believer then is to be unmovable on this point. That is the
complete work of Soteriology, which is the salvation of mankind,
through the person and work of Jesus Christ. This attitude will
keep you even if those in the church are moving away from
biblical doctrine.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the
latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to
seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
4. Faithful: We are to live by faith, during these tough times
knowing if we withdraw God will have no pleasure in us. Just as
Habakkuk living in his day was told by God "the just shall live
by faith", so too must we. He was facing invasion by foreign
armies, murder, mayhem, sin, and all kinds of evil. It is easy
to get our eyes off our goal of following the Lord. But we must
not let anything or anyone stop us. Be resolute to be faithful
to the end. Even if all else fails. Just as the bottom line
faith says in Habakkuk chapter 3, verse 17-18 "Although the fig
tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the
labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no
meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall
be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will
joy in the God of my salvation." This attitude will keep you in
all circumstances.
Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man
draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
5. Expectation: Without our Faith, we cannot please God, we must
believe God is a rewarder of those who seek Him. In the course
of your everyday walk, you must have this attitude. For what is
a battle without relief? Can you go on without this Expectation?
No, I don't think you can. This is the everyday, companion to
bottom line faith. That little extra something in you that says,
God will reward me as I seek him. God wants us to expect good
things from Him. He cares about us and wants us to learn to live
by faith. In that daily living, however, the Lord wants to
reward us as we diligently seek him for guidance and help in our
everyday affairs.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he
is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
6. Inheritors: As the troubled world and nation continues, we
must confess and follow the concept we, the children of God are
strangers and pilgrims on the earth. You cannot follow the life
of faith without this attitude. It is the inherent knowledge
that you are walking by faith, following the Lord, and no matter
what happens you will be with the Lord someday. All these
troubles will be passed by you. In the middle of muck and mire
of everyday problems, take time out to smell eternity's roses.
That little time which says you are stranger and a pilgrim on
this earth. Just as America was founded by pilgrims, so too, are
you today. A pilgrim on the earth, awaiting your heavenly access
into the fields of eternities blest rest.
Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the
promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of
them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers
and pilgrims on the earth.
7. Believing in Miracles: We must also realize God is still in
the miracle business, someone has to believe, it might as well
be us. This attitude goes with the attitude that God is a
rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. This one says that
miracles still happen. Just like the early believers and those
around the world, miracles still happen. Ours is a miracle
working God. In this, the believer is given scriptural standards
for miracles. It is not an instant burger miracle. It is not a
fashion statement on television. This is a supernatural reality
brought into the realm of the natural. Living in the last days,
which can be evil, tough, and full of problems, let there be
room for miracles as well.
James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the
Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they
shall be forgiven him.
8. Fulfillment of our faith: We are living in tough times, but
we are kept by Gods power until our salvation will be
permanently revealed to us and the world. In the whole crux of
the matter, this attitude will save your bacon in tough times.
It is when you have gone that extra mile to believe. After you
walked and trusted amidst the troubles. In the warfare of faith,
doing all you can do, finally falling down and can do no more.
That is when, this attitude comes into being. You then realize
that you are kept by the Power of God through faith. You will
find salvation, that end of the road, so to speak. It is that
place, when Gods power comes to the forefront and lifts you up.
It enables you and keeps you. It is His grace in action and His
mercy in your life. When everything fails you, Gods salvation is
dependent on the power of God. That is what keeps you from
fatally falling and losing it all. We will have trials of our
faith, but this is more precious than gold, this will bring
honor-glory-praise at the coming of Christ Jesus, and the End of
our faith, which is the salvation of our souls.
1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto
salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.1 Peter 1:7 That
the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold
that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found
unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus
Christ:1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the
salvation of your souls.
9. Over comers: We are born of God and have overcome the world;
the victory which overcomes the world is our faith. Though the
world is troubled and shaken, we need not be troubled and shaken
for our hope is not of this world and is in control. We find the
over comer in you coming out. You are walking by faith, being
dependent upon the Lord. Standing upon His Word, and being
persistently faithful. Your faith is what overcomes the world
and all its temptations. This faith, which came from the Lord,
as a result of trusting in Him, will make you an over comer. No
matter what arrows the world or devil may hurl at you, your
faith overcomes the world, faith in Jesus Christ that is.
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our
faith.
10. Patient to the end: To the very end our patience is to be
used.... Though things continue to worsen, the world shaken, the
church divided, the wickedness expanding, yet our patience will
be worn and put to the test. Through this we must continue to
keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ. In
the end, all races come to an end. One of these days when the
final bell tolls, the fight will end and you will face the Lord.
When He sits upon the throne and all nations of peoples are
before Him, you too, will witness all the events. That is why
you must have this attitude. Nothing goes on forever. The
battles will cease, the life will end, the struggle will stop,
and you will see it. As you follow this attitude, it says within
your heart to have patience. Keep the commandments of the Lord,
which are not grievous. These can be summed up in one word,
which is love. Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, thy
mind, and thy soul. Then love thy neighbor as thyself. On these
two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. Within this
is the faith of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to reveal the Father,
for he so loved the world. Jesus died on the cross, for this
love so, you and I could be saved. The faith of Jesus says to
the world and the ardent sinner that God wants them to repent
and He will heal them. Out of Love, the Faith of Jesus Christ
says all this, as it moves through your life of faith.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are
they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
