Natural Skin Care
We all want to stay looking young forever but do we really know
how to care for our skin naturally? For many years natural
products have been used to heal and restore our skin from
moisture enriched Aloe Vera to the relaxing aroma of Lavender
and most cosmetic companies now use these important ingredients
in our skin care ranges. But do you know what they are and how
they can help to improve your skin? Some of nature's best
products are found right outside your door.
Lavender is one of them. This beautifully scented plant has a
soothing and calming aroma, perfect for easing the aches & pains
of headaches. Lavender also helps to promote the growth of
healthy skin cells and contains antibacterial properties.
Perfect for the bath, lavender absorbs well into the skin and is
commonly used in face and body moisturizers.
Honey has been used for centuries, in fact right back to
Cleopatra days. Honey contains skin-replenishing nutrients and
is considered humectant (has moisture-holding properties) and is
also an excellent antibacterial agent. Because of its
versatility, honey can be found in so many different skin care
products such as lip balm, body butter, body wash and even just
as an antibacterial cream to help ease skin rashes such as
eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.
Chamomile is another fantastically versatile plant extract.
Chamomile may be used for anti-inflammatory, soothing,
anti-itching and antiseptic. It is also considered to be
hypoallergenic which means it can be used to calm even the most
sensitive of skins. Chamomile may be found in Eye Cream, Eye
Make-up Remover, Moisturisers, Shampoo and is even perfect for
babies with nappy rash by using the liquid from a brewed teabag.
Aloe Vera is a succulent that was originally found in Africa.
The thick gel that is found in the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant
is excellent for anti-inflammatory and wound healing. It acts
well as a moisturizer and is perfect for soothing burns or
irritated skin from rashes. It can be found in body washes,
cleansers, moisturizers and also as a gel. If you do get
sunburnt, Aloe Vera is perfect for lathering onto the skin to
ease the heat and help to prevent your skin from peeling. Though
for your skin's sake, it's best not to get sunburnt in the first
place!
We have only just touched on the surface of the natural products
contained in the skin care products and with so many options
available to us these days, it really is worth looking into how
you can prevent your skin from aging and taking a little bit of
extra time for yourself to develop your own beauty routine.
After all everyone needs some time to pamper themselves!
