DirecTV vs Dish Network - Price Wars!
As many people know, satellite TV is the wave of the future. It
seems as though no matter where we go these days, it is very
common to see a satellite dish on the side of at least a couple
houses. We have gotten past the days of the large dishes that
sat on lawns, and moved onto the smaller versions that are
mounted on the sides of houses facing north.
There are two main competitors that provide satellite TV
services. This is great news for the consumer because they are
constantly fighting for your business; unlike cable who seemed
to be on their own for a while, and started to increase fees and
has terrible customer service (I speak from experience). This
fighting has lead to many price wars, as well as offers of free
satellite dishes, free satellite receivers, free installation,
free movies, and much more. We are now able to get free
equipment and installation at a very low monthly cost. It turns
out that getting satellite television, which offers more
channels, and better reception is cheaper than the old cable way
of receiving TV.
As I mentioned earlier, there are two main competitors that
provide satellite television. These competitors are DirecTV and
Dish Network.
DirecTV has been around since 1994 and now has a clientelle of
over 12 million. Known as the United States #1 satellite TV
provider, DirecTV provides 225+ channels to select from, as well
as some sporting programs that are not offered by their
competitor such as Mega March Madness and NFL Sunday Ticket.
DirecTV provides services throughout the United States as well
as Puerto Rico.
Dish Network is another popular satellite TV provider. With over
10 million customers that subscribe to their company. They are
the second most popular satellite TV provider, second only to
DirecTV. Dish Network came about in 1996 which has given DirecTV
a bit of a head start, but definitely has not slowed them down
in any way. Dish Network has been competing intensely with
DirecTV, and offers a larger channel selection. For the past few
years, these companies have constantly tried to out do one
another with offers of free things, which benefits us, the
consumer immensely.
Now is a great time to look into upgrading from your current
television provider to a satellite TV provider!
I found a really great site that has great information about
satellite TV. Check it out.
